Thomas W. Hulick, CIMA
Mr. Hulick is CEO, CCO and Managing Partner of Strategy Asset Managers. He is also the founding partner of Hulick Capital Management, LLC. Mr. Hulick worked for 25 years as a senior wealth advisor and investment manager for some of the largest financial and investment firms in the world. Mr. Hulick serves on the advisory board of the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, California. He is an active member of the Tulane University Fund Advisory Board, and serves on the board of the WildlifeNOW-Tony Fitzjohn George Adamson African Wildlife Preservation Trust. He has also been a member of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses volunteers since 2007. Mr. Hulick received a BA in Political Science from Tulane University and his MBA from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. He is also a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Aresty Institute of Executive Education, Senior Consultant’s Program, through which he received the designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA).
Robert M. DeMichele
Mr. DeMichele is the Chief Investment Officer of Strategy Asset Managers. Prior to establishing Strategy Asset Managers, Mr. DeMichele served as the Chairman and CEO of Lexington Management Corporation, as well as Chairman of the firm’s Investment Strategy Group, from 1981 through 2000. He also held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Lexington’s publicly held parent company, Lexington Global Asset Managers, from 1983 through 2000. During this period, Mr. DeMichele also served as Chairman and Co-Portfolio Manager of Market Systems Research (MSR), a Lexington Global Asset Managers subsidiary. Prior to Lexington and MSR, Mr. DeMichele worked for Warburg, Paribas, Becker, an international investment-banking firm, where he held several positions. Before joining Becker in 1973, Mr. DeMichele worked at Richardson Vicks, Inc., a leading consumer marketing firm. Mr. DeMichele holds a B.A. degree from Union College and an MBA from Cornell University, Johnson Graduate School of Business.
Gregory Markel, CFA
Mr. Markel has 30 years of investment experience and recently joined the firm to be responsible for both portfolio management and research of global equities. Prior to joining Strategy Asset Managers, Mr. Markel was Chief Investment Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager of A.R. Schmeidler. He also previously managed the FrontPoint Stadia Opportunity Fund, a $110M global long/short hedge fund. Mr. Markel worked for State Street Research & Management for eight years where he co-managed the SSRM Investment Trust, a $2.5 billion Growth and Income mutual fund. He previously served as a research analyst for seven years at Fidelity Investments. Mr. Markel started his career as a financial analyst mergers and acquisitions at Morgan Stanley. He received a B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Brown University and received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
C. Joseph Chen, J.D.
Carl J. Chen is a Managing Director and Senior Global Investment Strategist with Hulick Capital Management, LLC and Strategy Asset Managers, LLC. Prior to joining HCM-Strategy Asset Managers, he was a Co-Founder and Managing Member of Temple Honor, LLC, an investment advisory firm and fund based in Taipei, Taiwan. Since 2007, Mr. Chen co-managed the Temple Honor Asia Fund L.P. with a value oriented strategy focusing primarily on publicly listed equities in Asia and the U.S. markets. Mr. Chen also advised pre-IPO technology companies and resource based investors and producers with his global macro outlook. Previously, Mr. Chen was a manager at Asian Capital Partners, a Hong Kong based independent investment bank operating in Asia and the Middle East where he specialized in technology companies and the insurance industry. Mr. Chen received his Bachelors of Science, Marshall School of Business – Finance degree from University of Southern California (1992). He received his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School (1995) and his Masters of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Sloan School of Management (2004). Carl passed the bars of Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey and Washington DC but has since retired from the practice of law. Carl and his family reside in South Pasadena, CA. He is an avid reader and enjoys being outdoors with active member of the Economic Round Table and Caltech Associates.
